Ryerson Aero Design
The Ryerson Aero Design (RAD) Team is a student design team, which strives to support and encourage student interest in the field of aerospace and aviation, by exposing students to the real aircraft design and construction experience. We apply the theoretical knowledge gained in our classes to design, and build remotely controlled aircrafts. We fly our aircraft to in the SAE Aero Design? East and West competitions, against other universities to see who can lift the most weight. Ryerson?s name is well known and respected at the East and West competitions for its yearly entrances. In 2005, RAD placed 15th and 18th out of 25 teams. We encourage any interested Ryerson students, especially Aerospace Engineering students, to come and join the team. Formula SAE
Since 2001, the Ryerson Formula SAE (RFSAE) team has built small formula-style racing cars for international university competitions. If you are looking for practical experience before you begin your engineering career, then this team is for you. Not only does it allow students to apply engineering theories to real-life situations, RFSAE also offers students a chance to develop both teamwork and leadership skills. In May 2005, RFSAE placed 10th out of 140 universities at the annual Formula SAE competition in Michigan. Ryerson Formula SAE is open to all students in at Ryerson. For more information, please check out our website at http://www.ryersonformulasae.com/ CASI Glider Team
The goal of this team is to design and build a non-powered, non-controlled glider to carry the most weight for the longest time. Although relatively young, this team has established a strong name for Ryerson by placing 4th in a field of 11 Canadian Universities. For more information on the Glider team, an email can be sent to

Ryerson Rocketry Club
Active since late 2004, the club participated in local launches in December of 2005 and will be doing so again in May of 2006. In addition to building kits and replicas of rockets, the club also conducts research in various areas of rocketry. This allows members to actively use the knowledge learned in the classroom to apply it to real life. More information can be found at the club?s website at http://stw.ryerson.ca/~rocketry .
